The Pennsylvania Resources Council announced the winners of its first annual Don’t Trash My Turf! “Cleanup Your Turf for Supplies” Contest in Pittsburgh.

The Top Prize was awarded to the Penn Hills Community Development Corp. for picking up the most bags of litter – 135 – during a cleanup event.

Second Place went to Keep Our Pups Safe for picking up the most recyclables – more than 44 buckets of broken glass - on Pittsburgh’s South Side on September 22.

Third Place was awarded to Paddle Without Pollution who had the most volunteers – 71 kayakers and canoeists – at their Three Rivers cleanup on June 9.

The St. Clair Hospital ‘green team’ took Fourth Place after finding a  4 point buck carcass during their November 17 community cleanup event.
