PRC: New Law Requires Recycling Of E-Waste Starting Jan. 24
|
The PA Resources Council this week reminded consumers that beginning January 24, a disposal ban on covered electronic devices goes into effect in Pennsylvania. Covered devices include: desktop computers, laptop computers, computer monitors, computer peripherals and televisions. PRC will hold multiple e-waste collections during 2013 in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia regions - the schedules are being developed and will be posted in the next few weeks. Please bookmark the website of the PRC office closest to you and check back often for a list of collection events in your area: Click Here for Pittsburgh -- Click Here for Philadelphia. E-waste collections sponsored by the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh offices of PRC resulted in the responsible recycling of nearly 450,000 pounds of unwanted electronic equipment in 2012. Thousands of residents, lots of generous partners and dozens of volunteers worked with PRC staff at 42 collection events throughout the state to make Pennsylvania safer for everyone.
