Registration Now Open For Schuylkill Watershed Congress On March 9
|
The Delaware Riverkeeper announced Wednesday registrations are now being accepted for the 2013 Schuylkill Watershed Congress to be held on March 9 at the Pottstown Campus of Montgomery County Community College. The Watershed Congress has evolved over 15 years to advance the best available information and techniques for protecting and restoring watersheds. The focus on networking across disciplines means that the Watershed Congress melds science, policy and practical applications into one program. As a result, the annual Watershed Congress is a highly anticipated event for people interested in understanding, protecting and restoring their local streams. The agenda includes sessions on invasive plant control, sustainability, long-term trend water monitoring, the “Ghost of Land Use Past,” FEMA buyouts, schoolyard habitats and environmental education, bio-retention wetlands, a retrospective of ten years of work to protect Valley Creek, pharmaceuticals in drinking water, shale gas monitoring and much more. For a detailed agenda and registration information, visit the Schuylkill Watershed Congress webpage. |
