PA Trout Coldwater Conservation Corps Training March 16 In State College

Trout Unlimited is pleased to announce the PA Trout Unlimited Coldwater Conservation Corps will hold a Water Quality Monitoring Workshop on March 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2221 N. Oak Lane in State College.

Participants will learn: How to use monitoring equipment; How to select monitoring locations; Who to call if an incident is observed; and How to use TU’s online data portal and mapping application.

The training will be conducted by Trout Unlimited staff and volunteers, using a field manual and resources developed by PA Trout Unlimited and Trout Unlimited as well as training resources developed by the Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring of Dickinson College.

There is a $17.50 fee for non-TU members, which includes the cost of a 1⁄2 price membership. We require all participants to be members of TU to ensure that each volunteer is covered under our liability policy and is able to access our secure online data portal.

The workshop is being co-hosted by the Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited, the Spring Creek Watershed Association, the Spring Creek Watershed Commission and the PA Senior Environment Corps.

To register for the CCC training, please send an email to Mitchell Blake at: mblake@tu.org or call 814-977-0007, and provide your name, phone number and chapter name. Directions to the training session and an agenda will be provided the week of the training session.
