The PA Resources Council and the Darby Creek Valley Association present "Backyard Buffers & Rain Barrel Making," a free presentation to inform residents on water conservation and stormwater management practices to help protect the Darby Creek.

Workshop attendees will learn about the problems associated with stormwater runoff, ways to conserve water in their homes, and watershed friendly landscaping techniques. In addition, attendees will learn to construct fully functional rain barrels from recycled food grade barrels that they can take home and use on their properties.

The workshops will be held--

-- April 30 at 6:30 p.m., Upper Darby Township's New Senior Cafe, 1074 Pontiac Road, Drexel Hill.

The workshop is free, but registration is required. Rain Barrels are limited to 60 per workshop and 1 per household. Register online or contact Diana Andrejczak at 610-353-1555 ext. 232. If you are able, online registration is preferred.

A final workshop will be scheduled for May 2013. Funding for these workshops is provided by the Growing Greener Grant Program.
