Southwest Pennsylvania residents - get ready to pack up and safely dispose of your old, unused or unwanted household chemicals at multiple Household Chemical collection events sponsored by the PA Resources Council and partners this year--

-- May 4 - Allegheny County, North Park.

-- May 18 - Cambria County, Concurrent Technologies Corp.

-- July 20 - Venango County, Cranberry Mall.

-- July 27 - Allegheny County, Pittsburgh Parking Authority 2nd Avenue parking lot adjacent to 10th Street Bridge, Pittsburgh.

-- September 21 - Allegheny County, South Park.

-- October 12 - Beaver County, Bradys Run Park Recycling Center.

The cost is  $2 per gallon and all events run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Acceptable materials include: automotive fluids, aerosol cans, batteries, chemistry sets, CFLs, gasoline & kerosene, household cleaners, mercury, paint products, photo & pool chemicals and pesticides.
