DVRPC Launches New Smart Growth Project Database

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has launched a new interactive mapping application that tracks a variety of noteworthy development projects throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.

The Smart Growth Project Database focuses on three types of Smart Growth projects: developments near transit, traditional neighborhood developments (TND), and conservation subdivisions.

These types of development were selected for the initial launch of the website because they have the ability to revitalize existing urban centers and older communities, promote multiple transportation options, and preserve open space and natural areas.

The website, which includes projects that are proposed, in progress, and complete, is meant to serve as a valuable resource for municipal officials, planners, and citizens interested in learning more about Smart Growth efforts around the region. The database will be updated as new information becomes available and additional categories will be added in the coming months.

Smart Growth at DVRPC Smart Growth values are central to DVRPC’s approach to planning in a socially, economically, and environmentally conscious manner.
