Foods Of The Delaware Highlands Dinner April 27

Celebrate the connection between supporting our local economies and sustaining the clean waters, healthy lands, and scenic beauty of the unique Upper Delaware River region by joining the Delaware Highlands Conservancy - Eagle Institute at the 6th annual Foods of the Delaware Highlands Gala on April 27 at 5 p.m.

The popular event, held at Hawley’s Settlers Inn, features a five-course farm-to-table dinner and wine tasting followed by an exciting live auction led by Sean Strub.  This year’s dinner also includes a silent auction celebrating the generous bounty of our local businesses and products.

The evening begins with a wine tasting and silent auction at 5:00 p.m., and dinner at 7:00 p.m. The live auction and raffle for a case of fine wines caps the celebration during dessert. Gala tickets are $125 per person, which includes a $75 charitable gift to the Delaware Highlands Conservancy, a local land trust serving Pike and Wayne counties in PA and Sullivan and Delaware counties in NY.

The Conservancy’s Foods of the Delaware Highlands Gala Committee includes Conservancy Board Member and Dinner Chair Michael Geitz, Sponsor Chair Amy Litzenberger, Hospitality Chair Jeanne Genzlinger, New York Chair and Board Member Jeffrey Moore, and Auction Chair Brenda Ruello.

“The annual dinner provides important support and generates enthusiasm for the work of the Conservancy throughout the year. We are pleased that it has become a popular community event recognizing the critical mission of protecting the Upper Delaware region,” says Geitz. Moore agrees: “The dinner is a great opportunity to celebrate the dedication of our supporters on both sides of the river that unites us.”

Delicious gourmet cuisine will be prepared by Settlers Inn Chef and Conservancy Board Member Grant Genzlinger and his staff using locally grown ingredients. Menu highlights include Forks Farm chicken terrine and spring lamb with mint pea flan. Vegetarian options are also available.

The live and silent auctions offer exciting selections including a one-week stay in a luxurious lodge in the Rocky Mountains, a weekend in New York with limousine service and behind-the-scenes tours, a day of sporting clays, and a day of guided fly fishing.

Visit the Delaware Highlands website in early April to view our full slate of auction items.  If you are unable to attend the dinner, but would still like to bid on an auction item, please email the Conservancy at info@delawarehighlands.org or call 570-226-3164 or 845-583-1010 to make arrangements.
