DCNR Accepting Nominations for Trails Advisory Board

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking nominations for four new appointments to the Pennsylvania Recreational Trails Advisory Board. Appointees will serve a consecutive three-year term.

Nominations are due by August 15.

The board consists of members from nine different types of recreational trail uses. The four new positions are for representatives of the physically challenged, water trails, all-terrain vehicle and snowmobile users.

In addition to the four open positions, members represent cross-country skiing, off-highway motorcycling, horseback riding, bicycling and four-wheel driving trail uses.

PARTAB was created in October 1992 in accordance with the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA 21). The board's primary function is to advise DCNR on general trail use throughout Pennsylvania, including the use of federal trails funding.
