Department of Environmental Protection Deputy Secretary for Active and Abandoned Mine Operations John Stefanko will present the Appalachian Regional Reforestation Initiative’s 2012 State Awards on Earth Day, April 22, at DEP’s headquarters in Harrisburg.

The Schuylkill Headwaters Association of Schuylkill County will be recognized for two mine reclamation projects in Blythe and Tremont townships, Schuylkill County, and Quality Aggregates Inc. of Pittsburgh will be recognized for a reclamation project in Allegheny Township, Butler County.
