Valley Talks Presents Birds Of The Wissahickon With Ruth Pfeffer On May 15

From the middle of April until the end of May, some 125 species of birds will migrate through or over the Wissahickon Valley in Montgomery County. Some will remain to nest in the varied habitats available here.

You can learn more about these spring visitors from Ruth Pfeffer when she presents Birds of the Wissahickon on May 15 at Valley Green Inn at 6 p.m. This presentation is part of the Friends of the Wissahickon's popular lecture series Valley Talks, sponsored by Valley Green Bank.

Ruth Pfeffer is not only an expert birder and photographer, but the owner of Birding with Ruth. Her thrilling bird calls and beautiful photographs are hallmarks of her presentations. Ruth currently teaches courses for North Penn Continuing Education, the Morris Arboretum, and Montgomery County Community College.

She is also a sponsor of Eco-Artfest at Abington Art Center, and has been leading birding expeditions in the U.S. and abroad since the 1990s.

Ruth will lead a hike that complements this presentation on May 18 at 8 a.m. Meet at the intersection of Bell's Mill Road and Forbidden Drive.
