PA Parks & Forests Foundation Kicks Off 5th Great PA Outdoor Challenge
|
The PA Parks and Forests Foundation Thursday invited Pennsylvanians to join PPFF’s fifth Great Pennsylvania Outdoor Challenge. “The Challenge encourages people to find new ways to stretch their bodies and their minds,” PPFF President Marci Mowery said. PPFF is awarding prizes every week to Challenge participants, including gift cards, fitness equipment, caps, T-shirts and other items. Participants also are eligible for discounts at Challenge partners. “All you need is a Pennsylvania State Parks & State Forests Passport, which is the key to some of our challenges and the prizes,“ Mowery said. “The Passport also is a terrific guide to our state parks and forests and their assets and features.” Pennsylvanians can sign up for the Passport, which costs $15, and register for the Challenge online. Participants set their own goals for the Challenge, whether they want to seek adventure, better fitness, healthier eating, and learning or just enjoy the outdoors. They might walk, bike, run, picnic, read or visit a park or forest where they have never been before. Mowery noted people can meet the challenges on their own or as a group. The Challenge is from May through October 2013. For more information, visit the Great Pennsylvania Outdoor Challenge webpage or call 717-236-7644. |
