June 10-- NEW. House Appropriations Committee meets to consider House Bill 1325 (Maloney-R-Berks) amending Act 537 to provide that onlot septic systems approved by DEP meet anti-degradation requirements, reversing an Environmental Hearing Board decision-- summary.  Room 140.  Off the Floor.

June 11-- NEW. House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee meets to consider House Bill 343 (Miller-R-York)-- authorizing the Environmental Quality Board to establish well construction standards by regulation consistent with standards established by the National Groundwater Association. Room 205 Ryan Building.  9:00.

June 11-- NEW. Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee meets to consider Senate Bill 994 (Vogel-R-Beaver) establishes a system to put in place expensive, capital-intensive nutrient reduction technology creating the illusion of using the marketplace to solve Chesapeake Bay nutrient reduction problems. June 12-- NEW. House Local Government Committee meets to consider House Bill 821 (Harper-R-Montgomery) authorized the creation of municipal stormwater authorities; Senate Bill 351 (Erickson-R-Delaware) authorizing municipal authorities to undertake stormwater management projects.  Room 205 Ryan Building. 10:30.

June 17-- Environmental Issues Forum by the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee.  Dr. David J. Nowak, Ph.D, project leader for the USDA Forest Service’s Northern Research Station, will discuss the agency’s innovative “i-Tree” program. Nowak was the driving force behind development of i-Tree’s suite of software tools that helps users assess and manage urban tree populations to make for effective urban forest management and better understanding of the ecosystem services provided by community trees.  Room G-50 Irvis Building. Note: The Environmental Education Workshop Calendar is no longer available from the PA Center for Environmental Education because funding for the Center was eliminated in the FY 2011-12 state budget.  The PCEE website was also shutdown, but some content was moved to the PA Association of Environmental Educators' website.
