Senate Environmental Committee To Consider Green Building, On-Lot Bills June 18

The Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee meets on June 18 to consider legislation reversing an Environmental Hearing Board decision on how the Department of Environmental Protection reviews on-lot septic system modules in HQ and EV watersheds and a bill setting green building standards for state buildings. The bills include-- -- House Bill 1325 (Maloney-R-Berks) and Senate Bill 946 (Baker-R-Luzerne) amending Act 537 to provide that on-lot septic systems approved by DEP meet anti-degradation requirements-- summary; and -- House Bill 34 (Harper-R-Montgomery) setting green building standards for state-owned or leased buildings-- summary. The meeting will be held in Room 156 (Majority Caucus Room) starting at 9:30. Sen. Gene Yaw (R-Lycoming) serves as Majority Chair and Sen. John Yudichak (D-Luzerne) serves as Minority Chair. |
