DEP Announces Upcoming Natural Gas Vehicle Workshops In Southeast

The Department of Environmental Protection, along with its partners at Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, Greater Philadelphia Clean Cities and PECO, will hold four free workshops for municipal and other fleet managers in the southeast region of Pennsylvania.

The half-day workshops are being held in Montgomery, Chester, Delaware and Bucks counties.  The workshops, which all have the same content and include a networking lunch, have been scheduled for these locations:

-- June 18, at Arcadia University in King of Prussia, Montgomery County;

-- June 19, at West Chester University, Chester County;

-- June 20, at the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce in Springfield, Delaware County; and

-- June 21, at Bucks County Community College Lower Bucks Campus in Bristol, Bucks County.

Workshop attendees will be provided with an overview of compressed natural gas (CNG) as a fuel for municipal vehicles, and discussions of cost effectiveness, vehicle conversions versus new purchase, fueling options and much more.

Information will be presented on the various funding opportunities available through DEP, as well as support available from the Pennsylvania Partnership to Promote Natural Gas Vehicles (P3NGV).

P3NGV is a U.S. Department of Energy funded initiative managed by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission to provide objective information to fleet managers in southeastern Pennsylvania on the benefits of using CNG as a fuel.

The partnership thanks TMA Bucks, TMA of Chester County, Delaware County TMA, Greater Valley Forge TMA, and the Partnership TMA for their help in arranging and hosting the workshops.

Registration is required for these free workshops
