PA Parks & Forests Foundation Launches 2013 Photography Contest
|
The PA Parks and Forests Foundation invites photographers to enter the 2013 Through the Seasons Photo Contest. The deadline for submissions is September 5. The competition gives shutterbugs a chance to show off their favorite state parks and forests, kids having fun in the outdoors and even dogs in the wild. Top prizes include the Pennsylvania State Parks & State Forests Passport and state park gift cards. Photos can be entered in five categories: Appreciation of Beauty; Kids in the Outdoors; Outdoor Recreation; Volunteers in Action; and Dogs in the Outdoors. “The photo contest is one of our favorite activities of the year,” said PPFF President Marci Mowery. “We enjoy seeing Pennsylvania’s great public lands through the eyes of other park and forest enthusiasts.” All photos must be taken in a Pennsylvania state park or state forest, and submitted in .jpeg form to ppffnewsletter@pa.net. Voting begins on September 9 on the foundation Facebook page. Judging will be by popular vote, and the top vote-getter among all submissions will be named the People’s Choice Best in Show. There will also be a Critics’ Choice Best in Show chosen from all submissions. Best in Show winners will be printed on the cover of our fall newsletter with the top three in each category featured on the PPFF website, Facebook page and other electronic communications including Take Five/Fridays With Pam and PRESERVE/EXPLORE. For the complete set of contest rules visit the PA Parks and Forests Foundation website. |
