The Friends of the Allegheny Wilderness are sponsoring and is looking for volunteers for their annual Allegheny River Cleanup on September 10 starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Wildwood Inn, Tidioute, Warren County.

The cleanup will include the Crulls (96 acres) and Thompsons (67 acres) Wilderness Islands, some of the largest islands in the Allegheny River. These two islands alone account for roughly 65 percent of the island camping along the Allegheny River between Kinzua Dam and Tionesta.
