CBF-PA To Form Stakeholder Group On SB 994, Meeting Chesapeake Bay Milestones
|
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation-PA this week announced it will convene a stakeholders meeting this fall when the General Assembly returns to discuss the implications of Senate Bill 994 (Vogel-R-Beaver) and cost-effective ways to meet the Chesapeake Bay cleanup milestones. Session ended in June with a debate over Senate Bill 994 and its implications in helping the Commonwealth meets its goals in the Pennsylvania Watershed Implementation Plan to improve overall water quality, and its requirements under the Chesapeake Bay Clean Water Blueprint. The goal of this meeting is to gather all of the stakeholders together to discuss what the state needs to help it achieve its Blueprint goals, how Pennsylvania meets its milestones, what are cost-effective ways to accomplish these goals, and how are each of the source sectors affected. This event is made possible by funds from Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds, a nonprofit grantmaker focused on improving water quality. Details regarding the meeting will be released in the near future. For more information, contact Lee Ann Murray, CBF-PA, by sending email to: lamurray@cbf.org. |
