Chesapeake Bay Foundation Environmental Leadership Training Oct. 8-Nov. 26

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation-PA is now offering its first Environmental Leadership Training program this fall which will run from October 8 to November 26.  The initiative is part of the City Beautiful 2.0 movement.

This 8 week training program will cover topics like neighborhood needs assessment, water issues, urban agriculture, dealing with trash and litter, open spaces, becoming an effective advocate, project planning and urban trees.

The goal of this training is to introduce tools and resources to volunteers to help them make communities green and our streams, rivers and the Bay healthy.

October 8 Special Program

Pulitzer prize winner and author Tom Hylton will kick off the training series with a presentation on October 8th. Hylton of “Save our Land, Save our Towns,” will speak about the major issues communities are dealing with, the root causes, and what can be done to improve our communities and our environment.

A focus of the discussion will be on the community benefits of green infrastructure, like trees, and the positive impact trees can have on local water quality.

That event is being held at the Civic Club of Harrisburg and is open to the general public as well as program participants.

Applications are due September 24.  Click Here for details and an application.
