Fish and Wildlife Foundation's Bring Back the Natives Grants Available

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S.D.A. Forest Service, and Trout Unlimited, is requesting pre-proposals for the Bring Back the Natives Program.

Pre-proposals are due December 2.

Nonprofit organizations, universities, Native American tribes, and local, state, and federal agencies interested in restoring native populations of sensitive or listed aquatic species may apply.

The funds may be used for on-the-ground efforts to restore native aquatic species to their historic range. Projects should involve partnerships between communities, agencies, private landowners, and organizations that seek to rehabilitate streamside and watershed habitats.

Funding for the Bring Back the Natives Program is administered through NFWF from federal agencies cooperating to support this program. This funding requires a $2 non-federal match for each federal dollar requested by applicants.

Since 1991, BBN has supported 244 projects and benefited over 120 species, 29 of which are federally listed as threatened or endangered.
