Reminder: Special Canaan Valley Institute Grants Due August 26

The Canaan Valley Institute is soliciting applications for its Special Projects Grants Program from organizations it has had a working relationship with for at least one year.

Applications are due August 26.

The Institute is looking to support local stakeholder organizations committed to restoring and protecting the natural resources of their watersheds. Therefore applications must be for projects to directly address water quality or quantity issues or aquatic habitat.

This special, action oriented grant opportunity will be a competitive process with grant awards up to $25,000. Priority will be given to projects needing resources for design work for projects which address at least one of the Institute’s five resource priority areas: flooding, source water, stream restoration, wastewater, and/or conservation planning to address these water quality issues.

CVI plans to award 10 grants to support project design. Projects supporting innovative solutions that integrate economic and social benefits with environmental outcomes are encouraged.

Questions about the program should be directed to the Institute staff member assigned to your group or call 1-800-922-3601.
