Senate/House Bills Moving

The following bills of interest saw action this week in the House and Senate-- House Recycling: House Resolution 425 (R.Miller-R-York) urging the DEP to review its recycling programs and make recommendations for improvement was adopted by the House. Geospatial Council: House Bill 1285 (Cutler-R-Lancaster) establishing the state Geospatial Coordinating Board-- summary-- was removed from the Table and is now on the House Calendar for action. Green Technology: House Bill 1672 (Miller-R-York) providing for the testing of new, environmentally beneficial and energy efficient technologies was removed from the Table and referred to the House Appropriations Committee. Capital Budget: Senate Bill 680 (Corman-R-Centre) providing for an itemized list of Capital Budget projects for FY 2012-13 was referred to the House Appropriations Committee. (The House Appropriations Committee is scheduled to consider the bill on Monday, October 21 and House Republicans said this bill will be considered by the full House next week.) Senate Capital Budget: House Bill 493 (Gabler-R-Clearfield) further providing for the review and approval of Capital Budget projects and reduces the overall borrowing limit by $600 million was amended on the Senate Floor, passed by the Senate and was concurred in by the House.
