DEP Conducting Water Quality Review of Streams in Carbon, Chester, Monroe

The Department of Environmental Protection announced this week it was conducting a reevaluation of the water quality classification of three streams in Carbon, Chester and Monroe counties in response to rulemaking petitions.

The streams include: Tunkhannock Creek from the source to the confluence with Tobyhanna Creek (Carbon and Monroe), French Creek from the source to Philadelphia Suburban Water Company dam (Chester) and a short segment of the Buck Hill Creek (Monroe).

DEP is requesting anyone with technical information on water quality, instream habitat or biological conditions of these stream segments to contact Tony Shaw at 717-787-9637 or send email to: tshaw@state.pa.us . Information is due by September 12.
