The Department of Environmental Protection published a series of notices on general permit changes, sewer and drinking water priority list revisions and on technical guidance changes. Here’s a rundown.

Proposed changes to the Chapter 105 General Permit BWM-BP-11 covering the maintenance, testing, repair and rehabilitation or replacement of existing water obstructions and encroachments. Comments due: September 5. (PaB 4368)

Proposed new Air Quality General Permit for portable nonmetallic processing plants. Comments due: September 28.

Final: DEP ID: 400-2200-001. Guidelines for Development and Implementation of Emergency Response Plans. This document provides a one-stop source for requirements to comply with the State and Federal laws and regulations dealing with emergency planning and response, pollution prevention and contingency plan requirements for all activities to be carried out in the Commonwealth.

Draft: DEP ID: 294-2309-001. Radon Certification Policy. This document details the methods by which Radon Division staff administers applicable statutes and regulations. This document has been renumbered and several sections have been revised to clarify existing practices. Comments due: September 19

Draft: DEP ID: 392-2130-014. Guidelines for Identification of Critical Water Planning Areas. The Water Resources Planning Act (Act 220 of 2002) provides for the identification of Critical Water Planning Areas. The purpose of this document is to provide guidance to DEP staff, Regional Water Recourses Committees, and Statewide Water Resources Committees in the identification of those areas. Comments due: September 19.

Notice of changes to the 2004-2005 Clean Water Project Priority List and the 2004-2005 Drinking Water Project Priority List.

Notice of new nutrient monitoring requirements for significant dischargers in the Susquehanna River basin by the Department of Environmental Protection. (PaB 4365)

Notice of incentives under the National Environmental Performance Track.

Notice that Montgomery County is revising its solid waste management plan for the purpose of including additional waste disposal capacity. (PaB 4665)
