Senate/House Bills Moving

The following bills of interest saw action this week in the House and Senate--

Senate

Transportation Funding: House Bill 106 (Carroll-D-Monroe) providing for $2.3 billion in funding for highway, bridge and mass transit systems was amended on the Floor Tuesday (after two tries) and referred to the House Rules Committee.  Taking its cue from the House, the Senate amended identical language into House Bill 1060 (Pyle-R-Armstrong) that was waiting on the Senate Calendar and then passed the bill and sent it back to the House for concurrence.  The House concurred and sent the bill to the Governor for his action.  A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.

Recycle Mine Water: Senate Bill 411 (Kasunic-D-Somerset) providing for the reuse of water in abandoned mines for Marcellus Shale drilling was removed from the Table, amended on the Senate Floor and is now on the Senate Calendar for action.

Geospatial Council: House Bill 1285 (Cutler-R-Lancaster) establishing the State Geospatial Coordination Board was reported from the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee and is on the Senate Calendar for action.  A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.

Summer RVP Gasoline: Senate Bill 1037 (Vogel-R-Beaver) to repeal summer RVP gasoline requirements was amended and reported out of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action.

Theft Of Material: Senate Bill 1077 (Argall-R-Schuylkill) railroad material theft prevention was amended and reported out of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action.

Disaster Assistance: Senate Bill 720 (Baker-R-Luzerne) establishing the PA Disaster emergency Assistance Program-- summary-- was reported from the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee and was referred to the Senate Appropriations Committee.

House
