Final Title V Air Quality Permit Fee Increases Now In Effect

The final regulation increasing Air Quality Title V emission fees from $57.50 per ton of emissions to $85 per ton were published in the December 14 PA Bulletin.

The change is estimated to initially generate about $5.1 million more in revenue to the Department of Environmental Protection to administer the Title V program.

The fees are required by state and federal law to cover the cost of Title V program administration, but due to declining air emissions, the existing fee structure was not adequate to meet agency costs.
