Winter Eagle Watching Season Begins In Upper Delaware River Region

Wintering eagles have begun arriving in the Upper Delaware River region, and the Delaware Highlands Conservancy has numerous opportunities for you to view and learn about our magnificent national bird.

Visit the Conservancy’s Winter Field Office at 176 Scenic Drive in Lackawaxen, Pike County on Fridays from Noon to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to view new interpretative exhibits, watch a short documentary, and speak with knowledgeable staff and volunteers to plan a driving tour to the eagle-viewing blinds throughout the region.

Or, join the Conservancy on an upcoming Eagle Watch bus tour, scheduled weekends in January and February. Enjoy a scenic drive on a heated bus while you learn from an eagle expert and stop for photo opportunities. Seats are limited and reservations are required.

Visit the Delaware Highlands Eagles webpage, or call 570-226-3164 or 845-583-1010 to register ($20 for non-members; $15 for members) or for more information on all Eagle Watch activities.
