West Branch Susquehanna Restoration Symposium Presentations, Posters Invited

Trout Unlimited and the West Branch Susquehanna Restoration Coalition will host the 7th West Branch Susquehanna Restoration Symposium on April 10-11 at the Toftrees Golf Resort and Conference Center, State College.

April 10 will host a workshop on how to apply for and manage grants. April 11 will be filled with a variety of presentations on topics related to abandoned mine drainage cleanup efforts in the West Branch Susquehanna watershed.

Call For Presentations

Have you conducted research on AMD or on AMD-related projects in the West Branch Susquehanna watershed? Have you recently completed an AMD restoration project in the West Branch and have a case study to share? If so, please consider becoming a speaker at the next West Branch Susquehanna Restoration Symposium.  

Each presentation will be limited to 20 minutes with an additional ten minutes for questions.  Registration for April 11 will be waived for presenters.

If interested in presenting, please send an abstract (500 word maximum) along with your name and affiliation to Rebecca Holler by sending email to: rholler@tu.org by 5:00 p.m. on February 14.

Student Poster Contest

A student poster competition will be held on April 10th in conjunction with the 7th West Branch Susquehanna Restoration Symposium. Posters should present research related to abandoned mine drainage, abandoned mine reclamation, or a related topic.

Projects with a focus in the West Branch Susquehanna River basin are preferred, but not required.

Each student entering a poster will have the registration fee for April 10 and April 11 waived. A monetary award will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place contestants.

To enter, send an abstract (250 word maximum) along with your name, affiliation and contact information to Dr. Jennifer Demchak by sending email to: jdemchak@mansfield.edu by 5:00 p.m. on March 28.

Research Posters: If you are not a student, but would still like to display a research poster there will be a free area to display your work. If you would like to display a poster please contact Rebecca Holler by sending email to: rholler@tu.org for more details.
