Help Wanted: Berks County Conservation District Seeks Outreach Interns

The Berks County Conservation District is seeking candidates for two education outreach student intern positions.

The purpose of the positions is to meet with farmers and visit agricultural operations to inform them of their responsibility to maintain compliance under Chapter 102 for agricultural erosion and sedimentation control and Chapter 93.36 for manure management planning.

During the visits, the student will take the time to have conversation with the farmer, educate the farmer on regulations and inform them on assistance offered by Berks County Conservation District.

To be eligible for the position, students should be either juniors or seniors in a natural resources program at an accredited university, have professional skills and great communication skills and needs to be able to perform as part of a team and independently.

The student is required to intern 25 hours per week for 12 weeks, totaling 300 hours.
