Applications Now Being Accepted For State Wildlife Grant Funding

The Fish and Boat Commission Friday announced it is now accepting applications for State Wildlife Grants.  The deadline for applications is May 16.

Projects funded with these grants will help address conservation needs for a high-priority conservation project for the timber rattlesnake, a species in the State Wildlife Action Plan.

The timber rattlesnake is considered a “candidate” species in Pennsylvania and this project will build upon the long-term monitoring program initiated in earlier studies.

The PFBC anticipates final selection of a project by late June.

The federal dollars for this program are awarded to the PFBC from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service through the State Wildlife Grants Program. Awarding funds for any selected projects will be contingent upon availability of funds.
