Senate/House Bills Moving

The following bills of interest saw action this week in the House and Senate--

House

Low-RVP Gasoline In Pittsburgh: Senate Bill 1037 (Vogel-R-Beaver) eliminating the low-RVP gasoline requirement in Pittsburgh Region was reported out of the House Appropriations Committee, passed by the House and concurred in by the Senate.  A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.  The bill now goes to the Governor for his action.

Oil & Gas Well Lease Royalties: House Bill 1684 (Everett-R-Lycoming) further providing for oil and gas well minimum royalties was amended on the House Floor and remains on the House Calendar for action.

Variable Rate Electric Contracts: House Bill 2104 (Godshall-R-Montgomery) further providing for consumer protections in variable rate electric supplier contracts was removed from the Table and is now on the House Calendar for action.

Backup Generators: House Bill 1699 (Ross-R-Chester) providing for the regulation of air emissions from backup generators was removed from the Table, amended on the House Floor and remains on the House Calendar for action.

Lead Ban Notification: Senate Bill 1254 (Yudichak-D-Luzerne) making changes to the Plumbing System Lead Ban and Notification Act- sponsor summary- was reported from the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and was referred to the House Appropriations Committee.

North American Crude Oil: House Resolution 249 (Swanger-R-Lebanon) supporting increased development and delivery of oil from North American oil reserves- sponsor summary- was removed from the Table and is now on the House Calendar for action.

Drinking Water Week: House Resolution 796 (Vitali-R-Delaware) designating May 4-10 Drinking Water Week was adopted by the House.

Schuylkill River Of The Year: House Resolution 734 (Painter-D-Montgomery) recognizing the selection of the Schuylkill River as Pennsylvania’s 2014 River of the Year was adopted by the House- sponsor summary.

Senate

Green Technology Testing: House Bill 1672 (Miller-R-York) providing for the testing of new energy efficient technologies was reported from the Senate State Government Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action.  A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.
