Bills Pending In Key Committees Here are links to key Standing Committees in the House and Senate and the bills pending in each-- House Environmental Resources and Energy Links for all other Standing House Committees Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Community, Economic and Recreational Development Links for all other Standing Senate Committees Bills Introduced The following bills of interest were introduced this week-- Natural Gas Severance Tax: Senate Bill 1333 (Hughes-D-Philadelphia) enacting a 5 percent severance tax on natural gas production with proceeds going to fund education, certain environmental and economic development programs-- $150 million so natural gas drilling on state lands is not necessary, $190 million in FY 2014-15 and $250 million thereafter for economic development and job creation and the remaining funds for basic education funding.
