Five Pennsylvania schools were part of the 2012-13 Great American Can Round-Up, a recycling competition sponsored by the Can Manufacturers Institute where more than 532,400 students competed to collect the most aluminum beverage cans nationwide.

The Pennsylvania schools included: Immaculate Conception Middle School, Northampton County -- 490 pounds collected, Newport Schools, Perry County- 862 pounds, Central HS Class Of 2016, Bucks County- 154 pounds, Conrad Weiser Middle School/NEED Environmental Camp, Berks County- 81 pounds and Juniata High Computer Aided Drafting and Design Club, Juniata County- 46 pounds.
