The Clean Pittsburgh Commission Wednesday released its 2013 Annual Report detailing the status of quality of life issues in the City, including litter prevention and recycling programs, status of abandoned vehicles, buildings, and lots, community gardens, graffiti, and more. 

The mission of the CPC is to enhance the quality of life in the City of Pittsburgh through relentless public service and collaborative efforts to maintain clean and healthy environments throughout the City. 

“This report gauges the level of success and improvements among quality of life issues in the City over the past few years, said Sarah Alessio Shea, CPC Chair, “It not only provides a window into where we have come but provides resources for continued efforts to make future positive impacts”.

The 2013 Annual Report was compiled by the CPC with assistance from a number of City Departments including the Department of Public Works, Bureau of Building Inspection, Bureau of Police, ServePGH, and City Planning. 

The report also highlights strides made by CPC member organizations including Allegheny CleanWays and the Pennsylvania Resources Council as well as other local nonprofits include Grow Pittsburgh and Citizens Against Litter.

Resources on the issues of recycling, graffiti removal, community gardens, litter prevention, the City of Pittsburgh 311 Response Center and more can be found within the report.

The report also highlights the CPC’s goals and objectives moving forward that will keep with the vision of Pittsburgh being one of America’s cleanest and cared for cities.
