Penn State Researchers Seeking Clearfield County Participants For Marcellus Project

Penn State researchers are seeking Clearfield County residents who are interested in science and energy to participate in the Marcellus Community Science Volunteer Program, a ten-week program exploring the natural and social sciences through the context of natural gas development.

The program itself will take place from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, with the next session slated for Monday. The final session will be held August 11.

Topics will include energy choices for Pennsylvania and the nation, managing water resources, Marcellus Shale, and understanding community impacts of natural resource extraction. There is no cost to participate. Participants who complete the course will receive a $100 stipend

New participants are being accepted at the next session, scheduled for 6 p.m. on June 16 in room 146 Smeal Building at Penn State DuBois.
