Chester Ridley Crum Watersheds Assn. Seeks Volunteers For October Tree Plantings

As part of its efforts to improve water and habitat quality, the Chester Ridley Crum Watersheds Association in Chester and Delaware counties is hosting three streamside tree planting events in October. Volunteers are needed to assist with each planting. No prior experience is necessary. CRC will provide a tree planting demonstration at the beginning of each event. Gloves, hand tools, and water will be provided. Please wear long pants and sturdy shoes. CRC and its partners will be restoring tree cover at: -- October 16: Cheyney University, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., With help from Cheyney University students, we will plant trees on campus along the East Branch of the Chester Creek. -- October 22: Swarthmore College, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., CRC and the Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College will be adding to streamside plantings along the Crum Creek. -- October 25: Darlington Trail, Middletown Township, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., In partnership with Middletown Township, we will add to the streamside forests at this popular hiking and recreation location on the East Branch of the Chester Creek.
