The Department of Community and Economic Development Wednesday announced the Commonwealth Financing Authority has award more than $7.8 million in grants and $1.8 million in loans to support clean and alternative energy projects. “The Corbett Administration recognizes the importance of expanding our investments in the energy sector as we continue to make Pennsylvania a leader in the field,” said Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary C. Alan Walker. “Our investments in alternative and clean energy continue to result in a better environment, cost savings for businesses and residents, as well as new jobs for Pennsylvanians.” The CFA approved 11 projects through the state’s Alternative and Clean Energy Program including six Alternative Energy Production projects, three Compressed Natural Gas projects and two High Performance Building projects. The CFA investments in Bradford, Centre, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Northampton, Philadelphia, Union and Westmoreland counties are projected to result in more than $59.1 million in additional economic investments. The ACE Program provides financial assistance in the form of grants and loan funds that will be used by eligible applicants for the utilization, development and construction of alternative and clean energy projects in the state. A list of projects funded is available online. For more information, visit the Commonwealth Financing Authority webpage or call 1-866-466-3972. |
