The Rachel Carson Homestead Association in Springdale, Allegheny County is seeking an Executive Director. Resumes and salary requirements should be submitted by October 28.

The Association manages the birthplace and childhood home of ecologist Rachel Carson whose 1962 book Silent Sprint launched the modern environmental movement.

The mission of the Association is to preserve, restore and interpret Rachel Carson’s legacy, design and implement education programs and developresources in keeping with her environmental ethic.

Special celebrations are planned for May 2007 to celebrate Rachel Carson’s 100^th birthday.
