The Department permit review process considers, and under certain conditions relies upon, comprehensive planning and zoning ordinances in the decision-making process for authorizations related to facilities and infrastructure as required by the acts of 67, 68 and 127 of 2000. This policy was developed to promote sound land use planning and development by considering comprehensive plans and generally consistent zoning ordinances in Departmental decision-making processes for grant and funding decisions related to facilities and infrastructure.
