PA Resources Council Special Waste Collection Events In Allegheny, Beaver Counties

The PA Resources Council will hold six special collection events in August, September and October for electronic waste, household chemicals and other often hard to recyclable materials. Hard To Recycle Collections: Individuals can drop off electronic waste such as computers, cell phones, printer/toner cartridges, CFLs and expanded polystyrene packaging material at no cost. For a nominal fee, individuals can drop off alkaline batteries, fluorescent tubes, small Freon appliances and tires. Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.-- -- August 22: Allegheny County Airport, West Mifflin; -- August 29: Heinz Field, Allegheny County; and -- October 3: The Mall at Robinson, Allegheny County. Household Chemical Collections: Individuals can drop off automotive fluids, household cleaners, pesticides, paints and other household chemicals for a cost of $3/gallon. Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. -- August 15: Boyce Park, Allegheny County; -- September 12: South Park, Allegheny County: and -- October 10: Bradys Run Park, Beaver County.
