DEP Begins Accepting Applications For Coastal Zone Grants Aug. 17, Workshop Set

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the August 8 PA Bulletin it will start accepting applications for Coastal Zone Management Grants August 17. The deadline for applications is October 19. (formal notice) Applicants must meet certain eligibility requirements and must be within the Delaware Estuary Coastal Zone or the Lake Erie Coastal Zone. Proposals must also support the Coastal Resources Management Program's mission to protect and enhance coastal resources in this Commonwealth. DEP’s Office of Coastal Resources Management Office and the Erie County Department of Planning will hold a grant workshop on August 11 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, 301 Peninsula Dr., Erie. Registration is required for the evening session, and staff will be available for individual appointments from 1 to 5 p.m., officials said.
