The newly formed DEP Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force will be the topic of discussion on the August edition of “Environmental Focus,” the PA Environmental Council’s monthly half-hour television talk show. Airing on the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) on Sunday, August 9 at 4 p.m., the show will feature Department of Environmental Protection Secretary and task force chair John Quigley. In his interview, Quigley will outline the mission and goals of the 48-member task force as it works towards its February 2016 deadline to make recommendations to Gov. Tom Wolf for a 21st century natural gas distribution system. Following Quigley’s interview, a roundtable discussion on the problems of locating gas pipelines will include Nels Johnson, Director of North America Energy at the Nature Conservancy and PEC President and CEO Davitt Woodwell, who himself was appointed to the task force. Previous editions of “Environmental Focus” have included topics such as outdoor recreation on Pennsylvania’s waterways and Pennsylvania’s state budget. The show has featured distinguished guests such as Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn and former DEP Secretary David Hess.
