Dean Druckenmiller Named Acting Executive Director Of Berks Conservation District

The Berks County Conservation District Tuesday announced Dean Druckenmiller has been named acting Executive Director of the District.

“As Chairperson of the volunteer Berks County Conservation District Board of Directors, I encourage landowners, farmers, developers, watershed association members, local government partners and others to contact Dean and the Board, identifying your soil and water concerns and assist us in formulating solutions to protect Berks County’s natural resources,” said Piper Sherborne, Chair of the District Board.

Dean was born and raised in the Reading area of Berks County and is currently a resident of South Heidelberg Township in Wernersville.

He is a graduate of Susquehanna University with a degree in Environmental Management and has worked in the environmental consulting field in several capacities for many years.

Dean joined the Berks District in November 2014 as Assistant District Director and among his various responsibilities were the Dirt, Gravel, Low Volume Road and Gypsy Moth programs.

Dean succeeds Dan Greig who was Executive Director since 2011.

“Dan has mentored Dean over the past several months and is looking forward to a continued, but reduced role with the Berks County Conservation District as he moves toward retirements,” Piper said.

Dean Druckenmiller can be contacted at 610-372-4657 ext. 215 or by email to: dean.druckenmiller@berkscd.com.
