House Environmental Committee Acts on Oil & Gas, Infrastructure Security Bills

The House Environmental Resources & Energy Committee this week reported out two of the bills on its agenda, but took no action on House Bill 1077 (Scrimenti-D-Erie) establishing a low-interest loan program for coastal erosion.

House Bill 2861 (Rubley-R-Chester) providing for funding security measures for water and wastewater facilities was reported out after changes were made to the definition of security. PennVEST, the agency providing the funding, said it already had the authority to fund security upgrades for water and wastewater systems.

House Bill 2804 (Hutchinson-R-Venango) amending the Coal & Gas Coordination Act related to minimum clearance distance between gas wells was reported out without changes.
