Senate, House Make Appointments To DEP Citizens Advisory Council

On August 27, Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati (R-Jefferson) appointed James Welty, Vice President of Government Affairs for the Marcellus Shale Coalition to DEP’s Citizens Advisory Council.  His term expires in January 2017.

On August 28, House Speaker Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) appointed James Sandoe from Ephrata, Lancaster County to DEP’s Citizens Advisory Council.  His term expires in January 2018.

Sandoe is retired from Bridgestone Logistics in York where he was the Northeast Regional Manager.  Since his retirement he has taken several college courses on climate and sustainability.

The House now has no vacancies to fill.  The Senate has two vacancies to fill, one of which has been vacant since 2009.  The Governor has one vacancy.
