Senate/House Bills Moving

The following bills of interest saw action this week in the House and Senate--

House

Stopgap General Fund: Senate Bill 1000 (Browne-R-Lehigh) General Fund Stopgap Budget Bill (summary and Senate Fiscal Note) was reported out of the House Appropriations Committee and was passed by the House without amendment. A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.  The bill now goes to the Governor for his action.

Stopgap Fiscal Code: Senate Bill 1001 (Browne-R-Lehigh) Fiscal Code Stopgap Bill (summary and Senate Fiscal Note) was reported out of the House Appropriations Committee and passed by the House without amendment. A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.  The bill now goes to the Governor for his action.

Stopgap Education Code: House Bill 224 (Christiana-R -Beaver) with the Education Code Stopgap Bill (summary and Senate Fiscal Note) was reported out of the House Rules Committee and was concurred in by the House.  The bill now goes to the Governor for his action.

Mine Water Reuse: Senate Bill 875 (Bartolotta-R- Fayette) encouraging the reusing of abandoned mine water for drilling operations was reported out of the House Appropriations Committee and was passed by the House by a vote of 160 to 37.  A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.  The bill now returns to the Senate for a concurrence vote.

Trucking Leachate: Senate Bill 513 (McGarrigle-R-Delaware) authorizing trucking of landfill leachate was reported out of the House Appropriations Committee and was passed by the House by a vote of 172 to 25.  A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.  The bill returns to the Senate for a concurrence vote.

Ethanol Mandate: House Bill 471 (Marshall-R-Beaver) removing the ethanol blending requirement from the Biofuel Development and Production Incentive Act was reported out of the House Appropriations Committee and was passed by the House by a vote of 155 to 42.  A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.  The bill now goes to the Senate for action.

Public Utility Definition: House Bill 1241 (R.Brown-R- Monroe) excluding from the definition of public utility a resort providing water or sewer services to homes was reported out of the House Appropriations Committee and was passed by the House.  A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.  The bill now goes to the Senate for action.

Regulatory Review: House Bill 965 (Godshall-R-Montgomery) giving House and Senate Committees more authority to review regulations under the Regulatory Review Act (sponsor summary) was reported out of the House Rules Committee and Tabled.

Septic Smart Week: House Resolution 454 (Tallman-R-Adams) designating the week of September 21-25 Septic Smart Week (sponsor summary) was adopted by the House.
