Helping a McMurray Dry Cleaner Lower Utility Bills and Reduce Waste

Martinizing Dry Cleaning of McMurray, The company used a loan from the Small Business Pollution Prevention Assistance Account Program to improve the efficiency of their operation by installing a new environmentally-friendly dry cleaning machine to replace an inefficient machine. In the past three years, Martinizing reported saving 129 gallons of perchloroethylene and 7,500 kilowatts of electricity, all the while increasing production. They also reduced their use of perchloroethylene by 2,715 pounds, a step which helped to reduce their waste disposal costs. These actions resulted in the company saving $2,856 in the three years since implementing their project. The Small Business Pollution Prevention Assistance Account Program is available to any small business owner whose pollution prevention/energy conservation project in businesses with 100 or fewer full-time employees.
