Interns Wanted: Lacawac Sanctuary Field Station Seeking Summer Interns
|
The Lacawac Sanctuary Field Station in Lake Ariel, Wayne County is seeking qualified college students with professional skills in various areas of research and education. While Lacawac is not able to offer a stipend for most internships, they feel their internships offer a unique experience and the opportunity to build new skills. Those interested in receiving credits for an internship should investigate this with their institution. Internships are available in the areas of Ecological Education and Research Assistant, Marketing and Communication and Field Station Educator. For most internships a commitment of 20-30 hours per week is expected. If desired, summer internships can be more intensive (up to 40 hours per week). Intensive summer interns will have a specific focus, but will also be expected to contribute to the day-to-day tasks of running Lacawac Sanctuary. Complementary housing is available summer internships. There is limited access to a vehicle while in-residence at Lacawac. It is strongly recommended that students have access to a personal vehicle. Lacawac is in a remote location about 10 miles from commercial towns with public transportation. Limited company vehicle usage may be permitted once a week for personal use. A valid driver’s license is required. Click Here for all the details and to apply. For more information, contact Craig Lukatch by sending email to craig.lukatch@lacawac.org or call 570-689-9494.
