The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the January 16 PA Bulletin of a proposed ban on a water withdrawal from the Great Lakes in Wisconsin and an opportunity for public comment.

The notice is being made under the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Compact and the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Sustainable Water Resources Agreement. 

A February 18 hearing is scheduled in Wisconsin and comments will be accepted until March 14.  DEP is providing the notice as a courtesy and is not collecting comment on this proposal.
