DEP Citizens Advisory Council To Discuss Longwall Mining, Chesapeake Bay Feb. 4

The agenda for the February 4 DEP Citizens Advisory Council meeting includes an update on the Chesapeake Bay Program and the recently unveiled reboot, the lower Susquehanna water quality study and a discussion of DEP’s response to the Council’s comments on the Act 54 longwall mining impact report from last July.

Also on the agenda is a presentation on the recently proposed stream protection rule by the U.S. Office of Surface Mining.

DEP Secretary John Quigley will also provide his regular update on agency activities in addition to the written monthly report DEP provides Council.
